About Me

Youth Development Organization-Cameroon is a youth for youth organiztion aimed at facilitating youth involvement in decisions. The Green School Program shall be managed by a group of dynamic youths namely, Ndi Eugene Ndi, Hadiza Ibrahim, Fai Cassian Ndi and Tanyu Goddy Lorater who is the youngest (12 years old) and he became the leader of the kids tree planting program now "Green School" when on 10-10-10, he planted trees at the Nkambe Council Slaughter house in the presence of the mayor, other youths and took a pledge to care for the trees for three years. Ever since Tanyu took the pledge which was introduced to us by treemusketers-USA, 56 other youths joined him. This initiative has attracted 137 other young kids and the number keep increasing every day as YODO Cameroon continue to receive mails from other youths who are interesting in investing in the future by going green. The Green School Program seeks to bring youths closer to nature protection actions, foster climate change mitigation as schools will henceforth run small school forest with the planting of trees.

About the MDGs

Planting a tree is the most efficient way to combat climate change, deforetation, desertification and poverty. By planting trees, we are not only providing the world with food, we are also giving life which is what the MDGs stand for. Planting trees is a gift we can give to humanity we have been able to educate the community on health and environmental issues and our dream is to have all the eucalyptus in watersheds in Nkambe replaced for the population to have wate, food and remain in good health. All these actions are geared towards promoting MDGs even though the main problem is that we have been unable to raise enough funds. Now that the President of Youth Development Organization, Kengong Johnson Bang has convinced the Nkambe Council to localize its MDGs, we are hoping that the "Green School Program" already recieving 3000 seedlings from the Nkambe Council will be a resounding success.
