The Green School Program is a three years intensive tree planting exercise in some 50 primary schools and 50 colleges in Donga Mantung Division of the Northwest region of Cameroon. The program tackles educational instititions as the best vechile to dessiminate information on climate change, deforestation and the protection of watersheds to the communities. The Green School Program also seeks to stimulate schools environmental clubs to get involve in the planting of eco-friendly trees in public places to create awareness. In this light, with the three years, trees shall be planted in all the five council chmabers in Donga Mantung, the Senior Divisional Officers office, the offices of the five Divisional Officers and in 50 sacred forests (palaces).The program is youth driven, but it also seeks to eradicate the abusive cultivation of eucalyptus trees in Donga Mantung Division which has resulted to scarcity of water. In all, 100.000 trees shall be planted in three years. Youth Development Organization shall work in collaboration with the Nkambe Council, Misaje Council, Nwa Council, Ndu Council and Ako Council as well as the Divisional Delegation of Forestry, Basic Education and Secondary Education to achieve the set goal. The goal of aattaining the localized MDGs by providing a saine environment for the future generations through tree planting.

Youths are the leaders of tomorrow and reasons why they should be part of the MDGs, putting them at the forefront of such a positive community development action positive.

Youth Development Organization is a not for profit making organization created by youths for the betterment of youths. It has as focus to foster and support development efforts as well as advocate for youth participation in decisions and development process. It is a result oriented organization that makes youths not as instruments of violence but rather partners in development.
