About Me

Hi! I am Carina, 27 years old and live in Münster/ Germany. Since I have done my first step abroad to Namibia/ Africa intercultural learning and all aspects of it have become a passion for my life. In 2005 I co-founded an association called Solar Net International. Through providing intercultural learning products (like language learning videos or cultural reports) our web-platform www.solarnet.tv advanced to an international youth network over the years. Today we have almost 8000 members in over 150 nations who meet and exchange their cultures through photo reports and videos on our web platform www.solarnet.tv. Apart from my job as a junior manager of the organization I currently follow a masters course in "intercultural migration and intercultural relations" at the University of Osnabrück.

About the MDGs

I believe in education being the most crucial element for social change in a long term and sustainable perspective. We can currently see through a number of worldwide developments (like the recent ongoing revolutions in various arab countries) that an educated youth can move mountains when it comes to social change. Therefore I am dedicated to support other young people receiving access to education and I help out to provide content for intercultural learning. With the internet and it's social media young people have nowadays important tools to make a real change on global issues. I believe in enhancing the intercultural dialogue being one of those global challenges that we need to achieve a more peaceful world.
